The third collection in the CITADEL series brings new features while still delivering a lighter weight pack built with CORDURA's latest re/cor™ RN66, 100% recycled fabric : 420 Velocity. The new CITADEL 18 features a magnetic, separated and suspended laptop sleeve, a protective quick-access pocket and our latest T6 aluminum hardware.  For the CITADEL we specified CORDURA's new 420D Velocity, the latest textile in the CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66 collection of 100% recycled textiles. Velocity has a matte-shine finish with a water resistant top coating that repels dust and dirt and a multi-layer polyurethane back side to keep water out.  Black Ember is proud to be the world's first brand to collaborate with CORDURA® Advanced Fabrics on the launch of its new CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66 collection. It is the first 100% recycled nylon 6,6 textile from CORDURA®. When compared to virgin N6,6 production CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66 produces 83% fewer GHG emissions, consumes 82% less energy and uses 57% less water. The CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66 refers to recycled Nylon 6,6. That 6,6 rating means it's a high tenacity nylon and that it is ultra-durable. CORDURA® re/cor™ RN66 has passed the brutal barrage of tests that make a woven nylon CORDURA® brand certified. All Black Ember products are made using our BOND-STITCH high-precision construction. All textile components are laser-cut for precise assembly. This construction yields a super durable, over-engineered pack with a blacked-out, minimal and stealthy aesthetic.

A new modular water bottle holder will be available in April. The CITADEL R3 is the third addition in our weatherproof EDC pack series. Built from a combination of CORDURA’s new RN66 Velocity fabric and YKK® Aquaguard zippers for a durable weatherproof construction. Hypalon panels are bonded to the back side of the Velocity fabric to form a composite shell with structural elements where you need them and flexibility where you don't. Ergonomic 3D shoulder straps with two densities of EVA foam provide both cushion and support. The pack also has a contoured back-panel with an air-channel to keep you cool and dry. The Citadel also features our latest T6 anodized aluminum hardware. The Citadel is designed to keep your gear organized and protected. Your essentials are right at hand in the quick access pocket and laser-cut, locking zipper pulls help secure your gear. The magnetic tablet sleeve fits ipads up to 12 inches and there’s a separate laptop pocket that's both padded and suspended.
