Full color mages of each Sorrow are pictured on the medals separating the sections of the chaplet. The reverse of each medal features the Sorrowful Mother with swords piercing her heart. Our Lady revealed the devotion to St. Bridget of Sweeden in the 14th C. along with signal graces for those who honor it. The chaplet consists of seven groups of seven Hail Mary beads, with three additional beads and a Crucifix recited in remembrance of Mary's Sorrows: Prophecy of Simeon Flight into Egypt Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple Meeting Jesus as He carried His Cross Crucifixion Receiving the Body of Jesus Jesus Placed in the TombThree Hail Marys are added at the end, for the tears Our Lady shed in the suffering of her Divine Son.
