We preserved the traditional characteristics of a keel fin, such as hold and down-the-line drive, all while adding a looser, more responsive feel when the board is put on rail. We maintained the base length, area, and tip rake to retain the keel’s essence, but reduced the area through the center of the fin to increase responsiveness, just as Mikey envisioned.
