Accelerate Composting in the Garden Tower 2
Composting Without Worms: Compost Boost™ is a composting-worm alternative that allows for effective cool-process composting in all Garden Tower® systems even in the absence of worms! We strongly recommend red wiggler composting worms for a low-maintenance, highly effective worm-powered Garden Tower. However, some of our users prefer to manage their Towers without worms which motivated us to work with a phenomenal partner to develop this Compost Boost™ concentrated living, worm-powered solution. One 32 oz bottle powers wormless Garden Tower composting for about 6 months.
Wait until the Compost Tube is at least 1/2 full of compostable greens & browns
Shake the Compost Boost™ bottle very well to disperse coagulated natural ingredients. Empty the Garden Tower 2 drawer by returning any water to the soil.
Use Compost Boost™ undiluted in the center Composting Tube with an empty drawer
Slowly add 6 oz of Compost Boost™ concentrate to the Compost Tube
Recycle any Compost Boost™ that passes through to the drawer back to the Compost Tube
When the compost has decreased by 1/3 or more and you are adding more food scraps, add 3-6 oz of Compost Boost™ as an accelerator about once per month
Composting With Worms: Compost Boost™ is alive and derived from natural composting worm castings and other safe and sustainably sourced ingredients. It is friendly to use with your existing worms in the Garden Tower Composting Column or in the surrounding potting soil.

We suggest starting with 3oz Compost Boost™ for the initial use, then 1-3 ounces per month as your red wiggler compost worm population grows exponentially!
Boost Composting in Bins, Trays, and Other Systems
Compost Boost™ can increase the performance of all common composting methods below 90°F. Compost Boost™ is only functional for "true hot" or thermophilic composting during the early stages by increasing the rate of breakdown and driving more nutrient availability for rapid decomposition toward a transition to hotter microbial action.
Note: All composting systems and environments require different amounts of moisture. (The Garden Tower 2 is an exception because the Compost Tube is fully surrounded by moist potting soil. This creates a constant 90-100% humidity environment for a super stable and healthy vermicomposting habitat!)
Use 3 oz Compost Boost™ per cubic foot of compost in your system
Use from full-strength (undiluted) to 1 oz per 16 oz water depending on how much additional moisture your compost needs. (If your compost feels excessively wet, then use Compost Boost™ undiluted.)
Discontinue use if the compost gets above 90°F, and store the bottle in a cool indoor environment.
Boosting Soil and Root Health with Compost Boost™
Compost Boost™ is loaded with live cultures and nutrient-boosting enzymes created by real worms! Adding diluted Compost Boost™ to your plant's soil provides living fungal and bacterial symbionts essential to unlocking plant nutrients and growing stronger, larger, more efficient root systems. The results are more robust, resilient plants and proven larger yields!
A well-known secret in vegetable growing competitions is the use of living worm-casting solutions in the soil root zone and applied to plant foliage! Furthermore, Compost Boost™ provides over 50 micronutrients to micro-supplement your NPK organic plant food or fertilizer (we sell and recommend ORGANIC Dr. Earth for fortifying your potting mix required slow-release NPK).
Soil Application (watering or drenching)
For general herbs, greens, and vegetable use in container systems or Garden Tower 2™, mix 2 oz Compost Boost™ per gallon of water. (Dechlorinated water is recommended to protect living microbes.)
Apply diluted Compost Boost™ mixture immediately to the top of the soil column (Garden Tower) at a suggested rate of 3 gallons (6 oz Compost Boost™) every 4 to 8 weeks during the active growing seasons.
Note: Compost Boost™ does not REPLACE soil NPK macronutrients, it "unlocks" them increasing availability and root uptake. During initial Tower setup, we suggest 2-4lbs of Organic Dr. Earth as a foundation nutrient amendment to potting soils.
Foliar Application (spray bottle)
The best time to foliar spray is in the morning before intense sunlight. Spray early when temperatures are cooler and stomata (leaf pores) are open (for higher absorption).

The suggested dilution for sensitive plants (house plants) is 0.5 oz of Compost Boost™ per spray bottle (22-32oz)

Does this product have an odor? Yes, it can, but not always! As we get into the warmer months, transportation temps will be higher and the live microbes in Compost Boost™ may produce some sulfur gas! Vent the cap outside and move the bottle to cooler storage.
How should this be stored? Store between 40f and 70f away from direct sunlight. Product effectiveness deteriorates after 12 months as live culture colony counts decrease.
How do I dechlorinate my water? For best results, try to reduce the amount of Chlorine in your tap water to protect the live cultures in Compost Boost™. This can be done instantly with a KDF filter or even a basic charcoal filter on your tap or hose, but as an easy alternative you can set tap water out for 24 hours in a bucket or watering can. This will dissipate the free chlorine that will attack the microbes; however, chloramines will still be present (but that won't have a major impact). You can deactivate both chlorine and chloramines in a bucket of water in 1 hour by placing a handful of soil in the bucket and giving it a good swirl!
