Dragon’s Breath was the talk of the California Spring trials circuit! Contrary to the low-growing early blooming celosia’s typically on the market, this variety is vigorous and blooms later but puts on a fantastic show of color for mid-late summer and early fall. Dragon's Breath flowers are a late flowering variety that can withstand hot and humid weather conditions and require minimal maintenance. The plant can thrive in situations with infrequent gardening, as it prefers soil that is more on the dry side, but young plants should still be well watered for better growth. Celosia Dragon's Breath seeds produce flowers with extra-large brilliant red plumes that are a lovely foil to the maroon foliage. Dragon’s Breath celosia is perfectly suited for 10” to gallon containers and looks marvelous in large landscape beds. Celosia Dragon's Breath seeds perform well when directly sown in fertile soil. The annual flowers prefer full sun exposure, which is about six hours of direct sunlight a day.
