Reversible Tropics Jacket

Reversible Tropics Jacket

Reversible. The day begins in a puddle jumper, flying dangerously close to mountain tops, landing on a patch of dirt, then hacking through Bengal bamboo, sweating like a beast. The day ends when you’re freshly showered on the veranda, endorphins pulsing, gin and tonic in hand, recounting your arrival to that exact moment. You’ll need this jacket for the hours in between. Reversible Tropics Jacket (No. 6968). Military-grade buttons. Based on Finnish Military M62 Jacket, with updated fit. Three bellow pockets outside, three more pockets inside. Buttons at front and cuffs. Chain stitching throughout. Washed for vintage look and feel. Blend in anywhere. Imported.

French Terry Bomber Cardigan

French Terry Bomber Cardigan

Keeping Standards.   It’s becoming increasingly challenging to draw a line between indoor clothes and street clothes. A lot of us can work anywhere. We still want our clothes to keep standards, want pieces we can wear out of the house and look like we put in some effort. This is one of those. With roots in athletic wear, this jacket draws inspiration from a golden age of rugged, outdoor, collegiate practice clothing from a time when those reliable styles began to cross over into everyday wear. Part bomber, part sweatshirt, part cardigan. 100% good-looking comfort.   French Terry Bomber Cardigan (No. J8192). Vintage credentials abound in this especially good-looking zip-up cardigan. Bomber style fit with rib collar, cuffs, and hem. Easy styling with a two-way zipper featuring a bell-shaped metal pull. Two handwarmer pockets at lower front. Comfortable as all get out but a step or two up from a sweatshirt or standard hoodie. Imported.

Grizzly Jacket

Grizzly Jacket

Increasing Your Range.   In the 1972 film Jeremiah Johnson, Bear Claw Chris Lapp asks, "Are you sure you can skin grizz?" Not a question much heard anymore, and luckily it doesn't often come to that. Time was, you could travel from central Mexico and up to the northernmost point in Alaska, all the while having the fortune (or misfortune, depending on the mood of the beast) of the company of the grizzly. Not the case anymore, but conservation efforts are bettering the lot of grizzlies in the lower 48. A few years back, I was leading a packhorse down a backcountry trail in the Mackenzie Mountains of the Northwest Territories when I rounded a turn and found myself in uncomfortably close proximity to a hulking example of this apex predator. At that moment, I didn't give much thought to decreasing range and decreasing numbers (except possibly my own). My luck held. Maybe I'd been in the woods too long, but he wanted nothing to do with me. Increasing your scope and range has always been my goal. To that end...   The Grizzly Jacket (No. 6879). Possibly the most rugged jacket ever made, as rugged as the territory where grizzlies still roam. Classic grizzly-style moto jacket in heavyweight Italian cow grain leather with distinctive (and warm) Italian shearling panels and collar. Fully lined in premium Japanese cotton flannel. Spread collar. Front slash pockets. Buttoned cuffs. Bucked waist tabs. Two internal pockets. Horn buttons. Supremely warm. Imported.
