Several wraps may be required to provide the desired coverage and performance for your specific scenario. Is it possible to reuse ChemTape®? No. ChemTape® is designed to be disposed of after a single-use. Does removing ChemTape® affect the chemical resistance of the suit material? ChemTape® uses an especially strong adhesive to maximize the bond to the fabric. ChemTape® may damage fabrics when removed, although this is generally limited to lightweight fabrics. Various factors including temperature, exposure, fabric type, and length of adherence will affect the characteristics of ChemTape® removal. Users must carefully inspect their garments for signs of degradation, tearing, or damage if the suit is intended for reuse. Will chemicals affect or attack the adhesive on ChemTape®? ChemTape’s® polyisoprene-based adhesive can be affected by a number of chemicals. Proper application is crucial to ensure that only a minimal flat edge of the adhesive is exposed to any contaminants. What’s the difference between ChemTape® and standard duct tape? Duct tape is designed to minimize the gross leakage of air from heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment (HVAC). In contrast, ChemTape® is designed to minimize the influx of hazardous particles and liquids through the interfaces of protective garments. These two items have radically different intended purposes, construction, and performance. Will ChemTape® removal affect the chemical resistance of gloves or will the adhesive affect the resistance? Most chemically-resistant gloves are either “cured” or “vulcanized,” which makes them largely impervious to rubber-based adhesives like the one used in ChemTape®. Since the body is indiscriminate about the kind of iodine it absorbs, your thyroid is at risk when it comes to radioactive exposure and contamination after meltdowns or major nuclear events. The CM-6M tactical gas mask must be stored in a dark, cool, and dust-free place, free from sudden temperature changes. The storage room should be ventilated regularly. Temperatures may vary between 10°C and 25°C, with a relative humidity of up to 65%. Note that full-face gas masks must not be exposed to radiant heat or sunshine. Furthermore, fuels, solvents, lubricants, and other inflammable substances–including chemicals–must not be stored with masks. And above all, there must not be any electrical machines or appliances that produce sparks or discharges during operation (ozone creation). When storing the CM-6M, avoid deformation of the rubber parts of the facepiece and internal CBRN gas mask. Each NBC-77 SOF gas mask filter is sealed in a plastic bag by the manufacturer. Store the filters unopened in a clean place at an even temperature, ideally at -5 to +30°C, with relative humidity below 80%. Sealed filters also tolerate conditions of -30 to +50°C and RH below 95%. The storage period (month and year) for filters is marked on the filter label. Do not try to regenerate the filters. Never clean the filters with compressed air or compressed water. Store the drop-leg pouch in a dark, cool, and dust-free place that is ventilated regularly and without sudden temperature changes. Temperatures may vary between 10°C and 25°C, with relative humidity up to 65%. Stored products may not be exposed to radiant heat or sunshine. Fuels, solvents, lubricants, and other inflammable substances may not be stored with the masks, as well as any electric machines or appliances producing electric sparks or discharges during operation (ozone creation). Avoid deformations of rubber parts of the facepiece and internal mask when storing. Inspect regularly to ensure effective sealing. Potassium iodide tablets should be stored at 20-25°C (68-77°F), dry and with foil intact.
