Rainbow Mix Beet Seeds

Rainbow Mix Beet Seeds

Days to Maturity: 50 to 55 from direct sowIt's a beet lover's dream come true! Five superb globe varieties, all as distinctive in flavor as they are in color, can be yours for the price of a single packet of seed! Grow these superb beets as gourmet babies or as full-sized roots bursting with flavor. And don't forget those nutritious beet greens, which reach their peak at about 5 to 6 inches high.Beets are a cool-weather crop, suitable for spring, fall, and even winter in very mild climates. They tolerate a bit of frost without damage. Direct-sow the seeds as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, or in late summer to early fall. If your spring and fall weather tends to be mild, try making succession sowings every 3 to 4 weeks for an even longer season of fresh harvests.Bush beans, lettuce, and onions are good companions to beets in the vegetable garden, as are all the Brassica family, from broccoli and cabbage to kohlrabi and cauliflower. And if you do not care for the flavor of beet greens, be sure to chop them and plow them back into the soil, where they add valuable nutrients that will enhance next year's crops.Sow seeds 1 inch apart and about one-quarter-inch deep in rows about 1 to 2 feet apart. After the seedlings emerge, thin them to about 3 inches apart, using the tender thinnings in cuisine or adding them to the compost heap. Beets love rich, well-worked soil and full sun.Collection includes the following varieties:Subeto Hybrid - The only hybrid in this collection, Subeto is a Pablo-type red beet with purple stems above a deep violet root. Vigorous and large-crowned, it looks as good as it tastes. High yields.Boldor - A golden beet with coppery-orange skin concealing its bright yellow-gold flesh. The color stays even after cooking, and so does the sweetness.Chioggia - An Italian heirloom with bright pinkish-fuchsia skin and concentric rings of white and magenta within. The flavor is super-sweet, but there is a satisfying spicy afterbite as well.Albina Vereduna - This pure white beauty has the same flavor profile as its red cousins, but no red juice to stain other food on the plate.Bull's Blood Scarletta - The violet leaves and purplish-red skin on this heirloom are striking enough, not to mention the concentric rings of flesh in two bold shades of pink. Talk about plate appeal!

Algarve Garden Bean Seeds

Algarve Garden Bean Seeds

Days to Maturity: 50 in southern latitudes; 60 in northern latitudes Royal Horticulture Society Award of Garden Merit An all-around superior performer, Algarve, an Italian Romano Pole bean, sets plentiful pea-shaped white flowers in spring, followed by masses of very uniform, straight, thin, mid-green pods that reach up to 11 inches long and 1 inch wide. They have a tender bite with phenomenal, award-winning flavor. Completely stringless, the attractive pods look as good as they taste. Typically grown as an annual, this herbaceous short-lived perennial (Zones 7-11) has a short growing season and performs in many different climates. Algarve is a vigorous, robust indeterminate variety, growing vertically as a graceful flowering vine that requires support, such as our bean growing tower or natural bamboo ring set, creating height and dimension in the garden. The vine may also be allowed to trail along the ground. Although the plant maintains a small footprint, it produces high yields for about a month. The beans are easy to harvest and earlier than most. Promptly picking the beans before the seeds mature keeps the beans coming. A shallow-rooted plant, Algarve grows best in a sunny location with moist, fertile, organically rich, well-drained loams. It is resistant to common bean mosaic virus. Self-pollinating, it will bear fruit without any pollen from other varieties. A warm-season vegetable, sensitive to cold temperatures and frost, it is best direct-sown into warm spring soil after all danger of frost has passed. Succession plant every two weeks until about mid-August to ensure a continual harvest. Algarve Italian Romano Pole bean seeds can also be started indoors and planted outdoors after the risk of frost has passed. If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.

Top of the Line Daffodil Mix Bulbs

Top of the Line Daffodil Mix Bulbs

Pack of 10 Bulbs Top of the Line Daffodil Mix is an eclectic blend of gorgeous blooms that come together in an almost magical way. Fifteen or more different daffodil types are packed in this flamboyant mixture of bright white, deep gold, lemon yellow, light melon and rich orange. Some blooms have soft petals arcing outward, others have frilly cups and still others have deeply ruffled petals, all in a variety of sizes. Narcissus Top of the Line Mix (daffodils) start blossoming in early spring and have different bloom times, which makes for an extended flowering season. Some bloom early season, and other bloom mid and late season. The daffodils in this mix require little maintenance, grow rapidly and exhibit great vigor and longevity. These blooms grow to a height of 12 to 18 inches and thrive in full sunlight. Top of the Line Daffodil Mix grows well in normal or loamy soil as long as it is well-drained. Deer find this plant unappealing, which is a benefit when naturalizing a wooded area or natural environment with these bright blossoms.

Citrus 'Bearss' Lime Tree

Citrus 'Bearss' Lime Tree

Citrus 'Bearss' Lime Tree is a semi-dwarf cultivar that is valued not only for fruit production but also for ornamental purposes and can fit beautifully into an edible landscape. The tree blooms prolifically in clusters of showy, highly fragrant, waxy white blossoms with purple-tinged margins and yellow anthers. Citrus 'Bearss' Lime Tree produces an abundant crop of 2- to 3-inch fruit with a thin, smooth rind. The seedless flesh is juicy, acidic, and finely textured with a strong fresh flavor. At full maturity, the fruit remains vivid green in warmer tropical climates, but turns light yellow in cooler climates. The heaviest crops occur during winter and early spring, but the tree bears fruit year-round. When protected from heavy frosts, the fruits store well on the tree. In the garden, Citrus 'Bearss' Lime Tree can grow to between 10 and 15 feet tall at full maturity (about 4 years), but the plant can be pruned to maintain any desired size and shape. In cooler climates, the tree can be grown in a container and moved indoors during winter, if ample sunlight is provided. Container growth is likely to be smaller and vary with pot size. Although a container grown tree will not reach its full growth potential, it will still flower and set full-sized fruits. A highly popular variety, Citrus 'Bearss' Lime Tree, a nearly thornless evergreen, also known as Tahitian lime, Persian lime, and bartender's lime, has a compact, shrub-like habit and a dense, rounded canopy of drooping branches covered in handsome, glossy, broadly lanceolate foliage. It has nearly thornless stems and a moderate growth rate. The tree makes an excellent accent or specimen and can be trained as an espalier. But it is also a great houseplant. Citrus 'Bearss' Lime Tree requires at least 8 hours of full sun a day and grows best in fertile, well-draining soil that has a neutral to slightly acidic pH. It has the best winter hardiness of any of the lime trees and will briefly tolerate temperatures around 32Β°F, but the plant should be protected when temperatures fall below 32Β°F. If container grown, the plant should be brought inside at the first sign of frost and placed in a location with plenty of bright sunshine. It should not be kept too warm, however, because cooler winter temperatures encourage flowering. The tree is self-pollinating and will bear fruit without any pollen from other varieties. Citrus trees will ship at the appropriate planting time based on your growing zone. Citrus trees do not ship in December or January. Plant height is 18-36" when shipped.

'Yukon Gold' Potato - 2 Pound Bag

'Yukon Gold' Potato - 2 Pound Bag

Days to Maturity: 70 to 90 from direct sow 'Yukon Gold' Potato is so richly flavored that your guests will ask if you already added the butter. This superb baking variety sets an early harvest of large, scrumptious spuds you will find irresistible in soups and side dishes as well as straight from the oven. 'Yukon Gold' Potato is the most popular yellow-skinned variety for baking, and it's easy to see why. It harvests earlyβ€”closer to 70 days than 90, and far ahead of the 100 to 110 typical of midseason types. The tubers are rounded, blocky, and packed with succulent flesh, with thin skins just perfect for eating. (That's where all the vitamins are hiding, too.) Although it's classified as a "dry" type best suited for baking, I find it superb boiled or fried too. The spuds range from 4 to 10 ounces, so I save the big mongo ones for baked potatoes, and turn the others into soups, stews, and veggie medleys. The 'Yukon Gold' Potato plant grows just 12 to 18 inches tall but spreads up to 4 feet wide, and each 2-pound bag of plants will sow up to 25 feet of row and yield 20 to 30 pounds of potatoes. These plants are grown from disease-free stock, and for my money they're the best potatoes on the market today. Like all potatoes, 'Yukon Gold' Potato fares best in sandy, enriched soil, but if you have heavy or clay soil, just use a raised bed or plant the tubers more shallowly, mulching them well with straw. Seed Potato Definition: A tuber that has several eyes whose purpose is to be planted. Genetically identical to the parent potato. A faster way to grow potatoes vs seed. Guaranteed virus free and disease free stock. 2-pound bag of tubers, plants 20 to 25 feet of row.

Sustainability Score

62%
Park Seed shows moderate commitment to sustainability through their seed preservation efforts and some eco-friendly packaging initiatives. However, they lack transparency in their supply chain practices and environmental impact reporting. While they promote natural gardening methods, there's limited information about their corporate environmental policies and labor practices. Their commitment to non-GMO seeds is positive, but they could improve their overall sustainability communication and certification standards.
