Smoke trails across the room where they lay in a tangle of cotton sheets. A slice of sun cuts across the carpet through a gap in the curtains. She dangles one leg along the side of the bed and wonders absentmindedly how long have they’ve been here — days at this point? At the mirror, she runs a pearl handled brush with cream-colored bristles through her soft brown hair, rubs thick slicks of amber and patchouli oils across: her neck, her inner elbows, the small of her back, behind her knees. At the window, reaching upward, she stretches her spine in the daylight and then shuts the heavy velvet drapes. They are entirely committed to staying in bed.  VADA’s premiere candle is modeled after one of the finest raw scent ingredients: Oud, an ancient aphrodisiac now known as “liquid gold” due to its rarity and high value.
