ECM Mechanika Max Espresso Machine—OPEN BOX

ECM Mechanika Max Espresso Machine—OPEN BOX

ECM Mechanika Max Overview The ECM Mechanika MAX is a PID controlled smart heat exchanger espresso machine with a rotary pump. It introduces a number of firsts for ECM including the ability to program the PID to regulate the boiler based on the temperature at the brew group. It’s also the first with programmable weekday and weekend on/off timers so you can have the MAX ready to brew whenever you need it. Equipped with a plumbable rotary pump and <11" wide the Mechanika MAX will have no trouble fitting into any home espresso bar. Features and Performance Underneath its housing the Mechanika MAX brews with a miniature rotary pump and a PID regulated 1.9L stainless steel boiler. Unique to the MAX is its group temperature regulation which allows the PID to monitor and control boiler temperature based on the temperature at the brew group rather than simply within the boiler. Temperature can be programmed in 1 degree increments and the PID doubles as a shot timer when the brew lever is engaged. As a result, it is the only smart heat exchanger espresso machine with the precision control to regulate brew water temperature. For more traditional operation, the MAX can also prioritize steam for milk drinkers while providing a cooling flush reminder if the group is hotter than your designed temperature. For such a compact display, ECM has packed a huge amount of functionality within the PID controller. To help with keeping up on maintenance, the MAX can be set to remind you when it’s time to backflush or when you need to replace your water filter. To save energy the ECO mode will power the machine down after a set period of time and in a first for ECM you can also designate up to two unique on and off times per weekday/weekend day to have the MAX on and ready to brew when you need it most. From a design standpoint the Mechanika MAX shares a good amount of DNA with the Mechanika VI Slim with the same cup railings, similar wrapped body panels, and ECM styled E61 group. The steam and hot water valves have received a notable improvement, having been upgraded to spring-loaded chrome tipped joysticks found on the ECM Technika V and Synchronika espresso machines. Similar to those machines, the inclusion of a rotary pump means whisper quiet brewing and allows the machine to be connected directly to a water line.In the box, the ECM Mechanika MAX includes the following accessories:Single Spout Portafilter, Double Spout Portafilter, 7g Single-Shot Basket, 14g Double Shot Basket, Backflush Disc, Tamper, Group Cleaning Brush, Water Line Why You Should Get It The ECM Mechanika MAX is the most compelling smart heat exchanger alternative to a dual boiler espresso machine we’ve ever seen. Its compact design, flexible water sources and lower price point make it far more accessible to aspiring home baristas without sacrificing the precision temperature control that is the cornerstone of specialty coffee. Coupled with its clean and elegant design, the Mechanika MAX has made ECM’s midrange even more exciting.PID Regulated Smart Heat Exchanger System: In a first for PID controlled smart heat exchanger espresso machines the Mechanika MAX actively monitors brew group temperature in addition to the boiler temperature. As a result, the MAX can offer two modes of operation designed to ensure proper brewing temperature. A basic flush reminder can be toggled to alert you to perform a cooling flush prior to brewing. For more active control you can also designate the temperature controller to use the group temperature to dictate heating to ensure stability. When entertaining this mode offers a “steam boost” feature to provide extra pressure as needed. Programmable On/Off Time: A sought after feature in home prosumer espresso machines, the Mechanika MAX features programmable on/off times that can be scheduled for weekdays and the weekend. Proper heat-up time allows for more consistent extractions, giving the temperatures of the E61 and portafilter time to normalize before brewing. Up to two unique on and off times can be set per weekday or weekend, allowing flexibility for work and play schedules. In conjunction with the Clock feature, the schedule can be programmed by the hour within 10 minute increments. Compact Design: The Slim is <11" wide with a streamlined design. For added convenience the rotary pump allows the MAX to be connected directly to a water supply, eliminating the need for refilling and making the machine a more permanent fixture on your countertop. This also allows for direct connection to inline water filtration to improve the flavor of your espresso and extend the longevity of your machine. In-Depth Programming: In addition to upgrading the PID for more accurate brew temperature control, ECM has included a bevy of features to aid with both maintenance and espresso brewing. The ECO function allows you to designate an automatic shutoff time to save energy. CLN and FLT can be set to remind you when it’s time to backflush your machine or to change your water filter. The MAX also features two pre-infusion modes, active and passive which allow you to either program a pause after an initial dose of water, or allow water line pressure to gently saturate the puck before extraction.

ECM Synchronika Espresso Machine - Limited Edition Color Line

ECM Synchronika Espresso Machine - Limited Edition Color Line

ECM Synchronika Overview Please Note: The Matte Black and Cement Grey versions of this machine come with wood accents pre-installed. The included tamper is still features a black bakelite plastic handle. ECM is all about a kind of refinement that beautifies the little things and strengthens an already top-notch machine. We're happy to say the ECM Synchronika has been a credit to their mission of innovation ever since it arrived on the market, and it's only gotten better over the years. To that end, we're very happy we have one in our kitchen to play with. Features and Performance The upgraded PID and discreet improvements really elevate what you can do with an espresso machine. Expect shots that are exquisite, with 2 bar of steam power at your disposal for a decidedly surprising amount of kick when you want to make a latte or cappuccino. The Synchronika's Fast Heat Up is a unique heating cycle that overheats the boiler so that it reaches brew temperatures even faster, just 10 minutes after switching it on. After a cooling flush, the super-hot water brings the group head and portafilter to temperature which helps to ensure optimal temperature stability.  Less obvious advantages can be found in the iconic E61 brew group, which ECM has updated with stainless-steel internal components, as well as a single top cap for a cleaner aesthetic that other machines lack. These stainless-steel internals add much greater durability and resistance to calcium build-up for more straightforward maintenance, streamlining the experience of owning an espresso machine overall. When plumbed in, you can take advantage of longer, low-pressure pre-infusion to bring out the more unique flavor notes in specialty coffee. While this isn't unique to the Synchronika, not many machines can do this. Why You Should Get It When paired with the proper grinder, the ECM Synchronika has pulled shots for us that compare with some of our best local cafes. The subtleties in technical improvement and ECM’s nuanced innovation shine in the Synchronika, making it one of the best-equipped prosumer machines on the market.Dual-Boiler: The independent, insulated stainless-steel boilers provide stable temperatures and allow you to change your brew temperatures to get the best flavor out of your coffee. You can brew and steam at the same time, as well. This is invaluable for everyone who likes making specialty drinks or for entertaining guests. PID Controller: Control boiler temperature for searching out those elusive coffee flavors. The integrated shot timer compliments this by giving you a live readout of how long you’ve been pulling your shot. With the upgraded PID, the Synchronika can reach an industry-leading 2 bar of pressure. Direct Water Line Connection: No more refilling the water tank. Be sure to outfit the machine with a water filtration system for better tasting shots and improved machine longevity. Fast Heat Up: The Synchronika features Profitec's Fast Heat Up programming, a unique heating cycle. When powering on, if the temperature in the boiler is 104° F or lower, the boiler will begin heating to 266°F and the PID will display "UP." A "FLU" message will display when it's time to flush. On E61 machines like the Synchronika, the flush takes roughly 20 seconds and will have the boiler, group, and portafilter at brew ready temperature in 11 minutes.

ECM Synchronika Espresso Machine Heritage Line

ECM Synchronika Espresso Machine Heritage Line

The ECM Synchronika Espresso Machine Heritage Line The ECM Synchronika espresso machine is widely considered to be the most refined dual boiler available in its price range. The Heritage Edition of this legendary piece of brewing equipment takes the same precision and build quality that established its dominance and presents it in an even more elevated package, complete with textured anthracite housing, copper accents, and knobs instead of joystick steam and hot water valves. Features & Benefits The ECM Synchronika is a dual boiler espresso machine that promises to exceed expectations in terms of aesthetics and performance—and then delivers on that promise. Enjoy full control of brew settings via the PID display: individual adjustment of temperature in both boilers, an optional display to remind you of the group cleaning, an integrated shot timer during extractions, and the ability to toggle the eco mode.  The Heritage Edition of the Synchronika has an extraordinarily refined aesthetic, even compared to other Synchronikas. The textured anthracite housing pairs perfectly with the copper accents, giving the whole machine a historic feel that has the power to elevate the look of your coffee corner all by itself. It also features ECM’s Fast Heat Up programming, which super-heats the boiler so it reaches brew temperatures much faster than standard E61 machines can: 10 minutes after switching it on, it's ready to brew. (Just make sure to follow the instructions and perform a cooling flush before brewing.) The Synchronika is one of the more aesthetically refined machines around, true, but don’t be fooled: it’s an absolute work horse, too. The steam boiler (stainless steel, 2L) pumps out a staggering 2-bar of steam pressure, and the brew boiler (stainless steel, .75L) achieves some of the best temperature stability at the group head we’ve seen. This is made possible in part by the fully-stainless-steel E61 group, which is more thermally stable and less susceptible to calcium build-up as well.  The result is that, with a little practice, Synchronika users can brew espresso and froth milk that exceeds the quality of what they could expect to be served in most cafes. Use the internal 3L water reservoir or plum the Synchronika’s near-silent rotary pump directly to a water line for a never-ending supply of brew water. Why You Should Get It If you’re particular about espresso and want to surpass the quality of shots you’re being served at your local cafe, the ECM Synchronika is the machine for you. It offers a level of precision and power that allow you to brew to exacting standards. It’s also one of the most beautiful espresso machines available—a distinction further solidified by the Heritage Edition’s anthracite and copper combination. At the end of the day, when it comes to dual boiler E61 machines available for home use, the ECM Synchronika is about as good as it gets.Elevated Design Aesthetic: The Synchronika has always been known as one of the most aesthetically sophisticated E61 group machines around; that designation is solidified with the Heritage Edition, which pairs textured anthracite housing with copper accents for a truly historic feel. Fast Heat Up: The Synchronika features ECM’s Fast Heat Up programming, a unique heating cycle which superheats the boiler to 266°F for record heat-up times compared to other E61 machines. PID Control & Display: The Synchronika’s subtle PID controller allows you to make degree-by-degree adjustments to both steam and brew boiler temperatures; it also doubles as a shot timer during extractions and displays maintenance messages. Plumbable Rotary Pump: Use the Synchronika’s internal 3L reservoir, or plumb the machine to a direct water line for an unlimited supply of brew water. Either way, the pump is near-silent, especially when compared to vibration pump machines.
