Elk Velvet Antler (EVA) has been used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for centuries, dating back as early as the Han dynasty (206 BC to 220 AD). But its use expanded far past Asia. First century Roman army commander Plinius Secundus saw its potential benefit for epilepsy. EVA has been reported to contain all essential amino acids, collagen, hyaluronic acid, glycosaminoglycan and chondroitin sulfate, polysaccharides, and a number of fatty acids.
